Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Learning Machine, Inc. collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit our website or communicate with us.
1. Who we are
Learning Machine, Inc. operates this website. For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@learningmachine.ai.
2. Scope
This policy applies to learningmachine.ai, messages sent to our company email addresses, and related interactions with our public website. It does not describe our handling of job applicant information, which is covered by our Applicant Privacy Notice, or employee information.
3. Information we collect
Information you provide
If you email us, we receive the information in your message, such as your name, email address, organization, and any other information you choose to provide.
Website and device information
When you visit the site, our hosting provider may process information needed to deliver and secure it, such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested page, referring page, date and time, and security or diagnostic logs.
Language preference
If you choose a language from the footer, the site stores that choice in your browser using localStorage under the key lm-lang. The preference remains on your device until you clear it or your browser storage. We do not receive a server-side copy of this setting.
Applicant information
If you contact us about employment, we may receive application and recruitment information. See the Applicant Privacy Notice.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- operate, deliver, maintain, and secure the website;
- respond to inquiries and communicate with you;
- understand and troubleshoot technical issues;
- protect our rights, users, systems, and the public;
- comply with law and enforce our agreements; and
- evaluate job applications as described in the Applicant Privacy Notice.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent, steps requested before entering a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting our business and communicating with you, and compliance with legal obligations.
5. How we disclose information
We may disclose personal information to service providers that process it for us, including:
- GitHub, Inc., which provides GitHub Pages website hosting and related content-delivery and security services; and
- Google LLC, which provides Google Workspace email and related storage services.
We may also disclose information to professional advisers, auditors, insurers, authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary to obtain advice, complete a corporate transaction, protect rights or safety, or comply with law.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use third-party advertising or analytics cookies on this website.
6. Retention
We generally retain ordinary inquiry correspondence for up to 24 months after the last meaningful interaction and obvious spam for up to 90 days. The browser retains your language preference until you remove it. Website technical logs are retained according to our hosting provider’s settings and operational needs. Applicant information is retained as described in the Applicant Privacy Notice.
We may retain information longer when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or a legal hold, and may keep de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you.
7. International data transfers
Learning Machine operates in the United States. If you access the website or contact us from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other places where our service providers operate. The laws in some regions may provide additional protections for international transfers. Contact us if you would like more information about a transfer that applies to you.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; or to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to appeal a decision or complain to a privacy regulator.
California residents may exercise any rights available to them under California law. We will not discriminate against you for making a privacy request. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, we do not offer a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link.
To submit a request, email privacy@learningmachine.ai. We may need to verify your identity and authority before responding.
9. Cookies and browser signals
The current website does not use cookies, advertising technologies, or cross-site tracking. It uses localStorage only for the language preference described above. Because we do not track visitors across third-party websites, changing a browser’s Do Not Track signal does not change how this site operates.
10. Security and children
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
This website is intended for a general and professional audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will post the revised version here and change the “Last updated” date.
Questions and requests may be sent to privacy@learningmachine.ai.
